Live Struggle Legacy is a storytelling platform dedicated to turning struggle into purpose through music, conversation, and community.
Founded by recording artist and curator Michael “MP” Paul, the platform was born from lived experience and a deep belief that everyone carries a story worth telling.
Raised in St. Petersburg, Florida, MP grew up surrounded by both the struggles and the vibrant culture of the city’s south side. Music became an early refuge. His mother worked nights at local concert venues such as the historic State Theatre and Jannus Landing, exposing him to a wide range of live music that helped shape his creative path.
While still in high school, MP began recording music and collaborating with local artists, quickly becoming part of Tampa Bay’s growing hip-hop scene.
But in 2007, his life took a dramatic turn.
A federal indictment led to nearly a decade behind bars.
During his incarceration, MP witnessed something that would change him forever — talented individuals with dreams, creativity, and potential losing their lives and their futures inside prison walls.
One of those individuals was fellow recording artist Timothy “Big Baby” Lewis, whose life was tragically cut short while incarcerated.
That loss became a turning point.
MP made a promise to himself that if he ever made it home, he would dedicate his life to creating a platform where people could share their stories, pursue their passions, and give their gifts to the world before it’s too late.
When he returned home, that promise became Live Struggle Legacy.
Today the platform highlights stories of resilience from artists, entrepreneurs, and community voices who have turned adversity into purpose.
Through podcast conversations, music collaborations, and documentary storytelling, Live Struggle Legacy amplifies voices that might otherwise go unheard.
Because the truth is simple:
Many people carry gifts the world never gets to see.
